The Opening Ceremony of Imam Abdessalam Yassine Foundation

The one day ceremony was held on Sunday 1st of February, 2015, in the main hall of the Cultural Center “Ali Emiri Efendi” premises in Istanbul, Turkey, with more than 100 attendees packed into the auditorium.

There were many high level researchers, professors and scholars at the one day ceremony and the enthusiasm generated by the event stated well that the aims of the Foundation would be achieved.

In his welcoming speech -after the recitation of some Qur’anic verses-, Issa Aouhar, member of Imam Abdessalam Yassine Foundation, was pleased to propound the bio-sketch of Imam Abdessalam Yassine –God have mercy upon his soul, along with the mission and the vision of the Foundation.

There was also a short documentary which strongly featured the crucial life-stages of Imam Yassine and the activities that the Foundation had so far being doing.

In his plenary inaugural speech, Dr. Omar Amkassou, the Foundation‘s Honor President, succinctly emphasized three main focal points related to the nature, the rationale behind the ceremony and the raison d'être of choosing Istanbul as a headquarter for the Foundation.

As for the last part of the ceremony, both the well-known artists Rachid Gholam and Ender Doğan gave a live, wonderful concert. Their superior artistry left the attendees stumbling to find the words to describe their musical persona.
